While I wouldn’t have thought of it I can see their point. The surveillance we have today is predicated on the surveillance implemented in that past and of I feel outraged today they must have felt similar or greater outrage. It is a reminder of just how much has been normalized and how much there is left to do.

I'd be shocked if it wasn't a negative at the end of the day.

And the rest of society has a right to bypass and work around them.

At some point it will be considered professional negligence to use LLMs in any professional setting and I hope that day is soon.

As someone who walks everywhere and has had near misses. I can only hear "traffic violence" as yet another propagandistic newsspeak.

I think you're correct. The positives from LLMs are an illusion but the drawbacks are real but insidious.

Until they solve the vertigo issue it's a non-starter for me and several of my friends who would otherwise be the target market.

There has been a lot of progress in that front over time.

Unironically the standaline headsets also help because the most vertigo-inducing thing is to run PCVR with an underpowered PC. It makes you nauseous before you consciously notice the skipped frames etc.

Most nausea issues come down to bad/unimaginative design, rather than being inherent to the headset. For an example, try out Gorilla Tag, which uses arm-swing movement instead of making you use a joystick.

I haven't tried Gorilla Tag, but given I can't stand still with the headset on in the Quest lobby I have my reservations.

The 50 state solution is a great feature because it effectively prevents unification solutions.

How is that not free speech? I wish more companies would be heroic and snub legal orders.

My personal conspiracy theory is that it is the corporations demanding the codes of conduct as a form of sabotage for products that they can't control.
