It doesn’t explain why other anonymous ratings like from the one on Glassdoor are 90%+. There must be some selection bias.

Well, with Glassdoor it is much simpler: they are very trigger-happy to erase unfavorable ratings and comments upon a request from the company. It isn’t some conspiracy theory or a secret, it’s been known for a while, with plenty reporting and articles about it.

I also don’t know absolutely anyone in big tech/FAANG who takes glassdoor seriously or even uses it at all.

Not that Blind is the pure truth or anything when it comes to absolute approval numbers, it is just the other side of the same coin (with the jaded ones gravitating more towards it).

However, when it comes to relative approval ratings among companies (i.e., to determine which one has higher approval vs another, not how good in absolute terms it is), I would definitely go with Blind.

Well you’re implying bias on Glassdoor’s part, I don’t see why the same couldn’t be true of Blind, albeit in a different way.

There is bias on both sides, and I never said otherwise. However, the one difference is that Blind team doesn’t remove comments and reviews critical of companies at request of those companies, while it has been public knowledge for a long time that Glassdoor does.
