He was ranked #2 in the world at age 10 and #1 in the U.S. at age 16. He subsequently earned the title of “World’s Youngest Failure” — awarded by his mother — when he abandoned his dreams of a professional chess career after realizing that there's no money in chess, or girls for that matter. He earned his B.S. in Symbolic Systems from Stanford (2004) and has been riding the startup rollercoaster ever since.
