------------------------------------------ Quick anecdote I was once hit with an $800 fine on a technicality from my school of engineering after taking a semester off. Trying to be resourceful, I stumbled upon a bridge building competition being put on by the engineering department a few weeks away with about the same prize as my fee if I could win all 3 categories of the competition. Needless to say I paid the debt immediately after the competition and had a bit of a laugh over the irony of it all.
