Impressive collection, the although website is slamming my poor T8100 powered thinkpad to 100% at times listening to the collection.

If only Texas had invested in weatherization to prevent issues in the winter. Their gas based powerplants also had failures during the freeze a few years ago due to ignorance/cost cutting measures.

ERCOT and the legislature didn't take their regulatory recommendations and responsibilities seriously enough after the 2011 report told them what needed to be done: https://www.ferc.gov/sites/default/files/2020-05/Reportonthe...

>cheap translation services we have today

Which seemingly put out cheap translations. At least in my experience with modern Anime/Movies/Videogames. You can always tell when actual human effort was put into localization and not just machine translation.

It still hasn't entered the lexicon of normal folk and has me going NO THE THREE LINES / THREE DOTS in X CORNER quite often. Too bad it's not four.

Floating roof tank> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/External_floating_roof_tank

TL:DR yes there is a seal along the roof edge and alignment poles/rods so things stay flat.

I do fire suppression builds for these tanks, so all of my equipment on the tank lid has to move up and down with it as it gets filled/emptied. So we end up with self coiling cables/hoses that have to collect themselves on the lid as it fills up. Linear heat detection wire goes all the way around the rim of the tank and also along the lid, which melts and signals the alarm/suppression system in the event of a fire. Companies with more money also have us install UV/IR based flame detection.

Same with these usually having a ladder that becomes more or less stairs depending on how full the tank is.

No they aren't? There is a collective industry move towards larger rims which actually means less tire, but sacrifices comfort in my opinion. But that industry move isn't for EV or ICE cars just a buying audience that seems to like larger rims.

Generally they use the same tires as normal cars/trucks/vans/suv's.

ie. My E-Transit uses the exact same tire as the regular Transit van because it was already rated for a vehicle that maxes out at nearly 10,000lb.

Most things can be registry edited back into reasonable form including the new right click menus.

The task/start bar is unfortunately not size adjustable anymore and requires third party replacement if you want that back.

It can be molded back into a reasonable Windows experience, but I imagine future updates will break every change I make at least once.

I was using OpenShell with W10 so needing a thirdparty taskbar isn't horrible. I see people complaining they can't truly disable updates on 10, which I did without too much of an issue. Truly removing and shrinking down everything was a project, but it's been solid and fast since doing so.

I kept a lot of notes and a lot should still apply to 11, but it's still a chore. I'm actually looking at recreating Tiny11 as a base and figuring out what to manually add back on a case by case basis to have all the functionality I need.

I will need something to run GTA6 when it comes, if nothing else.

I find the common problem with automatics is their service time scale. Bad car owners often forget to do oil changes often enough and those are only 3.5-10k miles apart depending on climate/oil type/etc. Which means services that happen every 50-75k miles or greater get left to people that actually maintain service histories and timely maintenance.

Personal example buying a used car with 60k miles that had some idle/start issues at times but generally ran well. Everything seemed to be serviced in a timely manner but the spark plugs were still the originals. Those spark plugs have a generous "100,000 mile" service interval. I pulled the originals and sure enough they weren't in the greatest shape. $40 later I never had start/idle issues again for the remaining time I owned the car.

I have to know, what's the the rise of people like you chiming in with AI sourced tidbits? It's like the people with no knowledge on a subject that use google as a quick catch up tool so they can participate in a conversation, but somehow even worse. Are they the same people, but now lazier or just true believers in the non-sense engines?
