Sometime it's not significant break, but some little difference may cause many support calls logged, depends on the organization size. And I believe many organization are still using legacy system.

Your post reminds me to time when I did my first freelance project. I want to create software/applications that people can use, and can make their life easier.

Thank you Zed.

I'm not a Japanese, but I will say it's because of their Bushido spirit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bushido

I would only see chaos. Politics are dirty in nature. When you go into politics, basically, you should be ready to dirty your hand.

I wonder how Wikileaks would make politician honest. I correlate honest with lies. What Wikileaks exposed are not lies, they are secret data/info.

When I download the slide, it's 413 slides, not 450.

ASP/VBScript

Are you referring to classic ASP? VS (for .NET) has great debugging features.

I am indeed referring to classic ASP, when the poster said taking a step back I assumed he meant classic ASP over ASP.NET.

I'm sorry for that, I guess I missed out that details since the topic is about .NET.

definitely several thousand leaps above ASP/VBScript

But still, I disagree with the choice of words in your comment. I used VS Interdev for classic ASP debugging in the past, and I find it sufficient enough. Yes, I'm sure there are other IDE/tools which can do more than Interdev, but I don't think it will be several thousand leaps.

So if a robber give you the money they just robbed in other country, means you are free to use them?

Hm, that’s actually a good point. I’m unable to come to a solid conclusion right now. I will just point out that information and property are not the same and that even with property, taking stolen goods is usually a lesser crime, especially if you are otherwise unrelated to the thief. So while there are some similarities it’s not a perfect analogy.

Can you also add the cost for becoming Apple Developer then?

Umm... $0.00?

It costs nothing to become an Apple Developer. It costs $100 to be an iPhone developer, or $100 for their Mac developer program. Both of which give you previews of OS updates and the ability to sell your software in their stores. Otherwise, you don't have to pay anything.

I completely agree with your argument for giving fair consideration. But put this aside, customer have the rights to choose their desired platform right? And since this is for government, they should have valid reason with their choice.

Private businesses and individuals can do whatever they want with their money.

The government instead is paying using taxpayers money.

So Robin Hood (if he really exist) is hero or thieves?
