Ugh, how I envy your reason. Unfortunately, I work in higher education, where things move at an agonizing pace. As such, I end up having to use a lot of Java applets just for the sake of compatibility with the framework the college has been using for over a decade (Adobe ColdFusion). So, as much as I'd love to kill Java applets, I still rely on them. Sadly, this is a case where culture will have to change before tech will get its chance.
