Ellen is also the voice of the Combine Overwatch in Half-Life 2. One of my favourite pieces of sound-design.

Edit: Oh, and she's the Announcer in Team Fortress 2.

"Nowadays, John does some TV commercial voiceover gigs, and some voice work for Valve that he couldn’t elaborate on" -- anybody hope it's HL3 they're talking about here? :)

Yeah, he'll be voicing Gordon Freeman, I'm sure they'll announce that tomorrow, April 1st.

In the same way as Link from the Legend of Zelda, I'm kind of glad Gordon doesn't have a voice actor. Too often the disembodied narration in first person games comes off as hammy.

If Link doesn't have a voice actor, where do the "HAH! HYAAH! TEEAHH!" come from? :)

That's what made the games so immersive for me. I can believe I'm the character when he doesn't speak.

Be still, my beating heart.

I remember when Ashly Burch said she did some voice acting for Valve. People thought it might be HL3 related, but it turned out to be for a TF2 video. The lesson: Of course Valve is working on something, they're a video game company, but saying a voice actor did some voice acting at a video game company says almost nothing.

I came here to post the exact same quote and say "Half-Life 3 Confirmed!".

A few years ago I had the pleasure of hearing Ellen and John play some folk-country songs. They are quite talented musicians!
