Clippy had recently been used as a mascot by the anti-enshittification / right to repair crowd thanks to a campaign started by Louis Rossman. There was always a risk that Microsoft could subvert the whole effort by simply re-using and re-defining the meaning the Clippy. I'm surprised this was not forseen and avoided. How does it feel to have your grassroots movemment snubbed by Microsoft?
