I don't trust GM or any other automaker to even download my contacts. I don't want any online experience from them in my autos either. CarPlay/Android auto as a compromise as I already entrust my phone with PII works. Plus it isn't limited to the imagination of an industry that has got shown to get bored with cars the day the next model is released and is ok with things like not updating GPS data or having charging a lot for that.

Another case of people buying things they don't own, and then acting surprised when an OTA update pushes ads or removes things they like.
