Look at the USA age at death charts. The USA is around the same level as Cuba.
Dissecting coverage/death, we find a huge bulge of high death rates in the poor which encompasses black/hispanic and others who have zero or minimal health care. To those in this group every interaction with health care costs $$, with cash copays needed. Pharmacare is the same, $$ plus copay.
Thus they are driven towards zero/minimal health care = die young and unmedicated.
Even an ambulance call can be well over $1000.
To be sure, once you have medicaid/care after 65 or if you have a good health plan, your age at death is in the top 10 in the global tier.
Once in the system there is a blizzard of administrative fees/codes - all of which require intense administrative time/costs to collect fees. This happens with all levels, doctors/pharmacists/drivers/nurses - all of which have their unions whose sole task is maximal revenue.
I feel this is a broken system that protects itself to maximise revenue.
At the bottom, generic worm medication that has a cost of well under $2 for a full course ends up at $1000+ for medication plus doctor's fees. Same with insulin, life needed medication and also generic. https://www.visualcapitalist.com/cost-of-insulin-by-country/
There is a corrupt political scheme operating in the USA 350 million people losing 6+ average years of life = that is the cost.
