I'm opposed to what we colloquially call 'Tech bros' in general. I think that a lot of the commercialisation of tech has been damaging, overhyped and AI has every likelyhood of following that pattern, But the article was a bad argument. It starts with some truisms: we're all prone to psychological mistakes and blows it out to "logically we should sit on our hands until science tells us its safe. Whatever you do, never try to figure anything out yourself". That's just dumb. I'm not saying that he doesn't have a point just that its strenuously overstated.
