Gotta be hard to live in a tourist city these next few years. I'd imagine alot of local businesses are going to see a decline now that visitors have to worry about a social media post they made in the last 10 years making fun of a guy being denied entry into the "Land of the Free" and ruining their entire vacation.

The US border has been more trouble than it’s worth for over a decade.

Okay so you're saying this is, without nuance, nothing different.

This just is stifling free speech. Even before these stories I have already been holding back expressing any US orientated criticism online as someone who wants to access US customers and investors, I need to be able to travel there. This just confirms that paranoia was justified. The message is clear, zip it or get barred. It’s crazy how individual small stories like this can have such a big impact.

[flagged]

? who did biden send back. Its over man, you undid Washingtons work, congrats with that monarch of yours , you fulfilled your destiny to be a European history carbon copy.

How will this affect tourism?

I can't see people paying thousands of dollars for a US vacation if there is a small chance of them being randomly detained and locked up for days.

"He was informed the flagging was for two reasons: first, he was told he had an incorrect visa, but he was also told that there was another reason that the agents would not disclose to him.

“I can’t help but wonder whether my frequent, and less than flattering, public comments regarding their president and his administration played a role – or perhaps I’m simply succumbing to paranoia,” he said."

This is most likely a very mundane event. Was his visa actually incorrect, because the second speculation is irrelevant if that is the case. I don't know, it would be nice if they clarified that point.

I am curious about that also, however it seems odd that one band member had the correct visa? If our assumption is they didn't get a visa that allowed them to perform, it means one did or there was a second reason that only applied to the other three.

If you’re going to perform in the US as a foreign musician you need an O or a P visa. Trying to do it on a B1/B2 is a no-go. This isn’t anything new.

Trump has certainly found innovative ways to harm the US economy.
