Those who don't want the extra liquidity sound to me a bit like the NIMBYs who don't want more houses in their neighborhood. A smaller number of tokens held by a smaller crew will have less of a useful economy than a larger number held by a larger number of people.
Of course they want the additional $5B, but that's the reward for kickstarting an economy. So much land in affordable private hands today started off as a grant from a soverign, benefitting the sovereign who conquered it and the first landowner as a huge gift.
