If you’re using Octopus Deploy, then Azure DevOps has equivalent functionality for free. The complication in this post comes from avoiding the local agent install; an equivalent Octopus Deploy process without a Tentacle would require similar custom PowerShell.
(Not to mention Octopus Deploy is prohibitively expensive with large real estates. What used to be $3K per year, or even a reasonable $30K per year, would now be $100K+ per year to renew the license. Which is down from $300K a few years ago but we’d already decided to move away by that point.)
