That "fabs will report to me" should be a tell that there is a lot of internal opposition...
Worse (for Intel) what can happen is Intel HP-isation - splits and sells.
But there is a lot of good news for them in cpu world: another B's granted, military buys Intel, new no-HT arch. And 80 bit memories like in Multics, can be true virtualisation on x86.
Even if x86 is dead Intel still have fabs - AMD can soon print in them :)
But that multigeneration refreshes are still a mistery - is it Intel's problem or maybe something else eg. simply someone have a some patent ? :>
