If we’re being pedantic about this uncommon pronunciation of gigawatt, it’s jigowatt.


An acquaintance of mine pronounces it with a soft G and long I, jai-ga-watts.


I don’t think it’s an uncommon pronunciation. It’s a fake unit.


Why not? That seems plausible. It's about 214 horsepower, which isn't a lot but compared to most EV conversions it's pretty decent. The battery might be the limiting factor anyways.


I believe my Volt peaks around 100 kW. This seems plausible. 160 kW is 215 horse power.
