People do things to maximize profit. And sure, I hope this turns a healthy profit.

But what about beauty? Because that's another thing this does. Yes it does something utilitarian, somewhat -- it transports brandy and such -- but it's simply beautiful while it does it.

Does anyone put a portrait of a strip mall over their mantle? No. But they'll put a portrait of a fine ship.

It's beautiful in appearance, and beautiful in concept. I'm sure there is plenty of complexity in the weather forecasting and so on. But at a strategic level it's beautifully simple: Just do the thing we've been doing for thousands of years, but better.

There is effort as well, yet there is something effortless about wind.

Forgive me -- I know a person who wanted to could problematize sailing in general and deep water navigation in particular, but I don't give a damn. The music swells in my head. It's just a romantic thing.

And a high tech thing.

But also a wonderfully ancient thing.

Fantastic. More like this. More beauty, please.

Very nice, hope to see more of this
