Prior to that, Dropbox
just worked
for me, but now I see it for the dangerous black box that it is. It can't be trusted as a backup solution for important files. It's only a convenient toy.

Does it still have the symlink problem? (Creating a symlink and then deleting it would delete the original file).

It's pretty bizarre if Dropbox is solely using client-side timestamps as the basis for comparison.
