Things like Apple Maps keep me in the Apple ecosystem as they add value to my life. I wouldn't use Apple CarPlay either if I had to use Google Maps (granted, I know Waze and others also exist).

Have a look at TomTom for iOS. It's paid but in my opinion far superior to Google Maps and Waze.
