Overheard a conversation while eating Pho in Toronto. A guy was saying the company he worked for listed 2 positions for co-op students. They received over 5000 applicants and not just from students. There are few jobs in the Tech sector. If you aren't working for the government or know someone who can get you in the door of a private company, you're fucked.
It is becoming impossible to find a job, own a house, pay for rent, feed yourself and have some kind of future in Toronto or the other major cites. It doesn't matter if you were at the top of your class in Waterloo or UoT and have co-op experience, you're going to be underpaid or unemployed with little chance of building a decent career in the Industry.
