Used it extensively in my robot built for my fourth year engineering project. Nice thing is you could still use ASM interrupt handlers without a lot of hassle.

Plain BASCOM(.EXE) was the name of a BASIC compiler, IIRC, in DOS days, probably. Did not use it myself, but I think I remember a colleague using it.
