I think the original comment was about their personal experience of dating men, rather than a general claim that men exclusively AI generate dating profiles and conversations.
I don’t know, as a woman this is just my observation in matching with men.
It’s possible that there’s lots of spam bots and fake accounts out there that men have to sift through, however if the dating experience for me is similar to other women, I see no reason why a woman would bother with using AI generated responses to talk to men. It is really not hard to make a man talk to me if I wanted him to, but I frequently ignore a lot of messages from some men no matter how hard they try.
It seems to me like the original comment could be easily generalized across genders, without losing any of its substance.
It's a strategy to avoid unintentional gender bias, like using "they" instead of he/she. It also helps the conversation to not get derailed by gender, if that isn't the point one is trying to make.
