It's useful to note that a more precise restatement of this article is that they're talking about approximately 0% of minimum wage employers and 0% of minimum wage workers in the state. And you know that if there were more they'd say so.

The whole article is "some" and "several" and insinuation. And it of course only quotes Republican political sources. And it of course doesn't say anything about whether the state will ultimately be better off when wages meaningfully catch up to inflation instead of falling behind more and more year after year.


Is the correct reading that only a subset of restaurants are affected here, and that they’re just outsourcing to delivery companies that aren’t required to pay the minimum wage? Sounds stupid.


People don't need mere jobs, they need employment capable of sustaining a meaningful life. Hopefully, if this doesn't create other opportunities for people the state can step in.
