Kind of a weird title. The main part seems to be relevant, single purchases, its just they've all shifted over to monthly fee vs "lifetime" single payment. Somewhere in the 1-2 years of subscriptions vs a bulk payment forever.

Based on a decent number of the subscriptions I've seen over on Google Play (not being an iPhone user personally), it's not surprising. Often seems like "offer the least, while continuously charging you money." Course, that just seems like America, "zero work effort, infinite money" being optimal.
