Important to note that a lot of this is a statement of goals not results. At the time this was written, they had initial, rough implementations of some of the intended toolkit (e.g., KBEMACS), but a lot of the other components are described in the future tense.

And the intended implementation technology was explicit, handcrafted rules or semantic networks -- which did prove to be disappointingly brittle in practice.


Looks like an ancient implementation of an AI programming assistant?


Using the other kind of AI based on explicitly encoded rules that as we know now simply don’t scale.
