The title is designed to be click bait but yeah..where did people think stem cells come from, you want cells that aren't too far down a differentiation line, aka multipotent at least..

Side note, some of the most of effective culture media is fbs. Or fetal bovine serum...

Pregnancy fluid???

> the fluid that surrounds a fetus in the womb

It is called amniotic fluid. Not "pregnancy fluid."

The original title is "16 [characters] too long" for HN, so OP likely shortened wherever possible. However, they had an extra 12 characters to work with than they used in the submitted title.

"amniotic" is one character shorter than "pregnancy"

Use cells from prego-juice to make lil guts

we can just say that they didn't know the term amniotic fluid

(they meaning the original article, since it didn't use it)

The third paragraph.

I meant in the title

Yes, the headline uses a tortured phrase "fluid drawn during pregnancy," but this is hacker news. The technical term, present in the article, is preferred over inventing "pregnancy fluid" which sounds borderline puerile in its ignorance.

Mini lungs sound adorable

Bonsai is so 8th century. All the cool kids are growing mini-lungs

how about mini hearts as a gift to your loved ones?
