If you have to go snooping, there's no trust and you should leave.

If you do want to snoop, set up a DNS server and just look at the logs. This advert for some program is nothing compared to knowing which sites they visited, when, for how long, and which computer they used.

Bonus points for having a VPN installed on it so you can capture the traffic even when they're out or on mobile data.

The first line is absolutely true. If you suspect, you're not happy. Or you think they aren't. Go be with someone who makes you forget your insecurities. There's over 8 billion people on this planet, go talk to some of them and fall in proper love.

Not everyone is in a relationship where they can easily just walk away. Imagine, for example, a married couple with a child who have drifted apart over the years, and one partner strongly suspects the other is cheating. Getting proof of that can be extremely useful in divorce/custody proceedings.

In any sane jurisdiction divorce is no fault.

Regardless of what you personally consider "sane," the 33 US states that allow for fault divorces still have people living in them.

IIUC, those 33 fit my personal sanity criterion, in that they still allow for the original comment's strategy: there's no trust and you should leave.
