>Baker: "Hey, you owe us $6,000 for the pies."

>Tesla staffer: "Nah, we don't even need the rushed order anymore. We will not be paying you anything."

>Baker: "The fuck?!?!"

>Tesla staffer: "Instead of paying you we'll offer you a tour of the Tesla factory."

>Baker: "The fuck?!?!"

>Tesla CEO: "No, we will pay you."

There have been many times in my professional career (mostly as a blue collar electrician) where I have been accused of "going over somebody" (i.e. not following rank, by reporting only to my immediate supervisor, inept). My strategy towards the end of my career was to basically say "I am telling you this, Boss; if you do nothing about it by [YYYY/MM/DD], I will FWD this identical grievance/concern directly to your supervisor" so that everybody knows my expectations to be heard.

Glad Tesla will "make this right."

Yet another example of Tesla's immaturity as a company.

At the automaker I work with, somebody would be fired over this. Things like this only happen if someone breaks purchasing protocols.
