If you are still on build 26040 like I am on the canary branch and you are unable to update just check the feedback hub and filter it by my build and sort it by latest and you will see that you are not alone and lots of people are getting stuck at 0% or 1% and stuff is breaking left and right. Normal operating procedure just pause your update. But you probably can't immediately so just click pause update and then reboot your computer and then don't touch the windows update panel in settings until the next update drops.

Just don't forget to go back into the feedback hub and find all of the submissions that basically say the same thing that your experiencing and leave a comment and upvote them.
