AI is in the midst of a gold rush period. Practically every media company everywhere is trying to find a way to profit from AI, not just large scale mainstream media outlets. At this point 10% of all content on the internet is AI generated, and that number is only bound to increase exponentially until the current AI hype cycle crashes.

I don't know if dutchnews.nl is or isn't using AI, but neither their size nor the "importance" of their work has any bearing on whether or not they might. If they aren't now, chances are they will sooner or later.
