Biggest issue with most Lisps is, IMHO, that you need emacs for a great developer experiences when it comes to tools. And emacs is not for everyone.



Not so for Clojure, there's great integration for both the Vim family and VSCode.


Seconding this, Clojure was my introduction to Lisps, and I used only VSCode with it. One of the greatest development environments I've ever used, and about half the fun of learning Clojure for me. (The other half being learning the language itself, of course!)
