While I agree that issues such as artists not being able to support themselves or rampant misinformation are ultimately contingent on social issues, I think we should try to mitigate the negative impact of AI in the meantime. Otherwise, there will be lasting consequences that won't be retroactively fixed by adapting.

Also, it may be that having powerful AI tools worsens the social problem by normalizing the generated art/misinformation.
