Nothing to add about the article, but I think the Chrysler Building is the most beautiful skyscraper I’ve ever seen.

Somehow it only ranks 9th in the list of America’s Favorite Architecture[1]. Which I suppose has more to do with name recognition than anything else.

here's my pet peeve about #1 on that list: everybody pronounces its name wrong.

it's not "TheEmpire...StateBuilding"

New York State's nickname is "The Empire State", so the name of that skyscraper needs to be pronounced

Agreed. I put the Chrysler Building up there with the Pantheon in Rome and El Castillo in Chichen Itza as buildings I could sit and stare at for hours.


It has a fantastic lobby as well.
