Show HN: Eye Relief Workouts in Chrome (chrome.google.com)

Hi, the maker here. Like most developers, I stare at my work screen for many hours a day, completely forgetting that my eyes need rest. Yes, in an ideal world you need to go for a walk, do eye exercises, and also sleep well, etc.

I tried different techniques and reminders, but it only lasted me for a couple of days. So I decided to make a browser extension that contains exercises and a timer to switch from routine tasks to short exercises, this allows you to switch tasks and really helps relieve stress.

In development, I used scientific articles with an evidence base and chose exercises for you that really affect the eye muscles. Of course, this is not a replacement for looking out the window, going outside and looking into the distance, but, again, in the real world we are not robots, so among other non-working alternatives, I want that in this way we can improve our condition and be healthier.

Now I'm working on new exercises and I also want to include musical themes that should enhance the effect of the eye exercise. Your feedback and recommendations on how to improve the product so that it is as useful as possible will be important to me.

Thanks!

I have 3 screens on my desk, and even on weekends I’m too lazy to look out the window. What usually helps me is rubbing my fists with my eyes until I see new galaxies. I'll try your app. Are you planning to support other browsers?

I'm planning to make a desktop application. For exercise, it is important that your attention is completely switched and no notifications are distracting, at least for 30 seconds. I also plan to use AI to generate new exercises.

In spirit of time respect it would be cool to generate some art with AnimateDiff

thanks for the advice!

Loving the idea and execution.

Thanks!
