For me, it's a tie between a bidet and a standing mixer. Both of those were utterly life-changing for me, and with both, I regretted not getting them years earlier.

First time I used a bidet was when I started at Google. They have some bidet stalls in their bathrooms, some fancy Japanese ones too.

I was nervous about a hard stream of water going up there, not knowing how cold or hot it would be, but it was a life changer.

First thing in at a new house for me is $50 bidet.

There are two kinds of people: those who have never tried a bidet, and those who have one installed in their own home.

A $50 bidet is great! If you have room in the budget, though, take a look at slightly higher-end ones. Especially ones that have a built-in blow drier. It sounds silly, but it's luxurious. For something you use constantly, it might be worth an extra $100 or so.

It's not the money, it's the electric connection. I'm not going to run a cord across the bathroom.

Ah, yes, I faced that issue. I ran the cord along the baseboards and used cord covers to make it look decent.

Seconding the bidet love.

I'm rolling with Humanscale 6G keyboard tray and magnetic USB-C right-angle connectors.

Makes living with hemorrhoids mostly uneventful for me
