One interesting aspect of this is pair programming. I have noticed that sometimes even little ol' me can't focus enough while sharing a screen.

Frankly, I am not completely sure why that happens. Sure, trying to keep a conversation going is not free in terms of attention, but I have caught myself more than once just wanting to end the session so that I can do totally stupid things for a couple of minutes. Now, why would I prefer that, unless I am somewhat shy of showing weakness or something




Same, I feel pressure to not make mistakes. All my thoughts are focused on not appearing dumb that I forget how to resolve the problem. Then appear dumb anyway.

That's why I hate live coding interview bullshit, always a terrible experience.
