I would say that is a culture that has formed withing our economic system not a required or desirable part of it. Free markets however are something different. They are simply the freedom to transact. That freedom is something good. An example of the beauty of that freedom is the Authors ability to live the life she wants while others get to live the lives they want working like crazy people.
