Those evil landlords and their infinite pricing power. If only there was competition among landlords (ie, build more).

In all seriousness, businesses can move (easier said than done for a restaurant) and commercial leases are very long, 5-10 years.



Curious how the average lifespan of a restaurant just happens to be 8 to 10 years.
