Actually three questions if you will humor me:
1. As the title states. For companies that have instituted bans on tools like AI assisted pair programming, ChatGPT, etc. Within two degrees of separation, do you know or have you heard of an individual being terminated for using AI against said company policy?
2. Do you think it is ethically wrong behavior to use AI against company policy?
3. Do you yourself currently use AI for work related tasks despite a company policy that explicitly prohibits its use?
I'll start.
1: No
2: No
3: Yes
I'd bet there are a number who got fired by trying to automate their job too far (to the point of wage theft), I find it hard to believe this hasn't happened
Certainly people have been fired, with good cause, for doing what you are doing. Don't try to claim or stand on some moral high ground, it does not exist and you haven't considered the company's point of view whilst you break the rules. The reason most ban them is for information security, your violating company policy, so stands they ha e valid grounds to terminate your employment
