Oh my God! This is happening to other people?! I thought my iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)'s GPU was failing!

I had been running all sorts of diagnostics to figure out what needs to be replaced or if I only have a few more moments with my 5K iMac.

It's been seriously making me mad since Apple has failed to update this product in their line.

Safari 16.5 was released yesterday, so Safari 16.4.1 is no longer the latest update.

That's a new low this time, even for Safari standards.

Good, atleast they are trying to get a grip on zero days from media formats

Sounds fishy and never happened to me, but it could be true of course. I switched to webp long ago so that is one way to fix it.

To be fair vector images in Chrome on m1 macs have been pixelated for over a year

Are there still sites that don't use webp?

Google doesn't even support webp in their products.

Nobody should be using it. For maximum compatibility there’s optimized JPEG (which one bug doesn’t change), and for good compression there’s AVIF. WebP is an outdated format in the middle giving you neither.

Probably quite a few. Safari didn't even support webp until like last year I think.

Yes, many

Safari itself didn’t support webp until a year or two ago.
