Show HN: Google Calendar-powered RSVP pages (smol.rsvp)
3 points by jer0me on May 1, 2023 | hide | past | favorite
Hi HN,

I created smol.rsvp because I wanted a quick and easy way to gauge attendance to my student organization's events.

smol.rsvp invites guests to a Google Calendar event, so the event will appear on their calendars, they'll be notified of time changes and can adjust their RSVP, and hosts can easily email all guests at once. (All of these are secretly just features of Google Calendar/WebDAV calendars.)

It also has some features that make it nice for small college/company events:

  - Add a custom logo
  - Choose a custom accent color
  - Upload a background image
  - Limit to emails from a certain domain (i.e. Only people from @yourdomain.com can RSVP)
  - Can be embedded in an <iframe>
Here's a sample invitation for an event on May 5: https://smol.rsvp/invitation/sample-event-82akcy

The tech behind it is Laravel, Tailwind, Svelte, and Inertia.
