I think the problem is most people don't want to think to hard about stuff. so if you have to go to multiple resources when they can go to one and get almost as good of an answer.
For sure. It can be a balance, though. In some cases, the cognitive strain of having to copy a bunch of text from a website, go to chatgpt, select a different model (maybe), write a halfway decent prompt are enough steps in the way to justify including the Perplexity extension to do the same thing in a couple quick clicks.
Also, in some cases, CGPT currently just isn't an option. E.g. summarize this YT video. (I realize this might age like milk with plugins on the horizon)
