In a war, DoD could buy the satellites, but the 5th Amendment takings clause does not have an exception for war.




They don't have to provide a fair price for it. The Defense Production Act allows demanding the production of goods, even at a loss to the company.

Which might theoretically be unconstitutional, but the courts have a history of ignoring the text of the constitution during wartime.

That's only for the poor and minorities. They will not dare touch a corporation, let alone owned by some high-profile billionaire with a significant public presence.
