The only Antivirus that has not yet bitten me is Microsoft Defender. I'm not usually one to praise MS, but this one eliminated a whole category of problems for me and many other people, especially non-technical folks. It works 99% of the time and they have their peace of mind and it doesn't mess up their system.

As for Linux... I was trialing something at a last job and it slowed compile times to 1/3 of the speed and did some other things. Glad I could save my coworkers the experience by writing a detailed report of why this is a bad idea for dev machines.
