Feels weird to talk about layoffs and promotions in the same announcement, right? It felt weird to me, like it didn’t give the departing / departed enough focus or respect.

It took a long time in the post to get to the meat, “ Eliminating roughly 7% of roles globally…”

Also the comment about the promoted guy being responsible for 75% of revenue seems more like setting that guy up to take a fall if numbers dip.

Too cynical?


It seemed inappropriate to me to combine both in the same announcement.
