I was triggered by the first few paragraphs of this piece. It was obviously and unmistakably Seattle throughout, with a few shots of Portland, OR for the hospital.
I find the rest of the piece as insightful and perceptive as the first paragraph.
The director is the same that made Malignant, which was also set in Seattle.
P.S. the real reason M3gan felt empty is because most of the gory parts were cut to achieve a PG-13 rating.
I guess she missed the opening shot of Seattle?
