Ask HN: List of blogs maintained with love by independent website owners?

Is there a search engine or a directory page where I can find a list of blogs maintained by independent website owners?

I am increasingly finding that I don't want to read stuff that are on mass-blogging platforms like Medium, Substack, and the likes. They occasionally contain good blogs but the vast majority has poor quality content. And they all look the same. They all have the same layout, same fonts, same dark patterns of the platform affecting the reading experience of every blog. They all seem to be after likes or claps or followers or whatever the cool thing for internet points is these days.

I like reading blogs where the authors maintain their websites with love with none of the shenanigans of mass-blogging platforms. Where can I get a list of them? Where can I search for them?

Have a look at the ooh! blog directory https://ooh.directory

Thanks! This directory seems to have a random collection of blogs. It is better than nothing of course. But after doing a few searches I realized that all of the good blogs that I have seen on HN are missing from their list. I guess blog owners have to submit their blog info to this directory and the good blogs that come on HN may not care to submit their blogs to this directory.

Ooh! is a general directory. If you're interested in programming or tech try a blog aggregator such as Planet Python https://planetpython.org or Planet Lisp https://planet.lisp.org which provide some curation.
