I guess they don’t use Scrum at Shopify?

Otherwise it will be awkward to manually have to schedule:

- Daily stand ups - Biweekly (or sprint_length) sprint planning/review/retros

Those sort of things are built into scrum to keep your team on track and prevent problems from being withheld until it’s too late.




Scrum is kind of a big red flag these days. One technical status meeting a week is plenty (as you'd have pursuing a PhD).


A sprint is timeboxed to 2 weeks. Technically a PhD is as well, but with a few more zeros.


But a project is. Get rid of the sprints.
