It's odd that HN criticises Elizabeth Holmes less than it does Elon Musk.

* One is a privileged charlatan who pretended to innovate, dicing with the health of innocent customers, and defrauding investors out of hundreds of millions of dollars.

* The other is an African American who arrived in the USA with $2K dollars in his pocket and became wealthy by innovating on the Web, kick-starting electric transportation WORLDWIDE and making America a space-pioneering superpower again.

I always hoped HN was a community of critical thinkers who orient towards innovation, science and truth.

How did we get so caught up in tribal political BS?

The media too - they hate Elon Musk more than they ever hated Epstein or Weinstein.

We can, at least, be better than the media, can't we?

What data do you have/use to claim that HN criticizes one more than the other?

I've followed HN over the last few weeks and there are literally hundreds of comments and posts from people being negative about Musk and Twitter (since it got taken over by Musk).

Barely anything about Holmes.

Amazon lays off 10,000 workers. Not a peep from HN. Musk's Twitter lays off less than 10,000 workers. Massive angst on HN.

Plenty of negative comments on this thread. Basically it's just your feeling. No hard data.

> followed HN over the last few weeks

Holmes has not really been in the _news_ (the "N" of "HN") in the last few weeks, until this event which has attracted hundreds of posts.

Musk, by contrast, has done lots of newsworthy things in the last few weeks.

Such an attitude is like being surprised that people talk about Joe Biden more than George W Bush at the moment - the fact is there is simply more to talk about with the former than the latter.
